The last Sunday of January is when people from my hometown celebrate the Sto. Nino de Malolos Festival. Literally hundreds of depictions of the Holy Child parade along the streets while thousands of people watch in awe. How could you not? Each Sto. Nino has been painstakingly adorned with flowers, fruits, feathers, umbrellas, lights, marshmallows, and some of the most unusual things you could think of. And behind each Sto. Nino are the people who have sacrificed their time and resources to be able to participate in the parade. It was indeed a grand display of ingenuity, passion, and devotion.
